About the Work
During my weeks long recovery from the broken femur and hip surgery I increasingly felt drawn outside. It was as if the trees and sun and sounds of life continuing on fully unaware of my pain and self pity was calling to me to join them. I found solace in a tree on my property that has sprawling cavernous roots that I imagine stretch for miles underground. This tree is a White Oak that I have crudely estimated to be at least 225 years old. I spent time sitting under it, studying the details and scars in its bark and watching all of the organisms to which this single tree is their whole world. This tree appears in many of the photographs in this series, unintentionally so yet obviously for a reason.
About the Edition
Each month, Jones releases a 3-5 fine art photographs from the brand new series 'Closer Than My Breath.' Every print is a meditation on themes of pain, healing, and transcendence, blending abstraction with photographic precision. Inspired by poetry, recovery, love and meditation, these works invite collectors to slow down and experience photography as both image and ritual.
